Home break-in victim shot

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – A break-in victim was treated and released from the hospital Wednesday for gunshot wounds.

Chattanooga Police first responded to an apartment in the 1600 block of Greendale Way for a burglary report.

Once on the scene, police learned that the tenant 32-year-old Ricky Harper had been home when the break-in happened.

Police say Harper was confronted by 3 masked men demanding money.

He refused, and was shot twice in the right leg.

Police say the suspects stolen items and cash from the home instead.

Harper drove himself to the hospital.
