Houston murder suspect arrested in Dalton

DALTON (WDEF) – A traffic violation in Whitfield County led to the arrest of a murder suspect from Texas.

Tuesday night, a deputy stopped a red Jeep on Hopkins Way for a tail light violation.

Deputy Harper then arrested Jose Jimenez for not having a valid drivers license.

Then when they got his fingerprints, they learned Jose is really Leandro Lozano-Jiminez.

And he was wanted in Houston for a murder and aggravated assault.

Houston investigators say Lozano-Jiminez shot an 18 year old in 2010 and his brother.

He fled Houston after the shooting.

Whitfield investigators found that he had been working in the Dalton area since 2011 as Felix Cruz Ocasio.
