Hubner building new facility in Dunlap

DUNLAP, Tennessee (WDEF) – Governor Bill Lee visited Dunlap on Wednesday to announce a new business investment.

Hubner Manufacturing Corporation will spend $9.6 million to build a new plant in the city.

Company officials expect the facility to create 66 jobs in Sequatchie County over the next five years.

The company makes a variety of products for transportation and energy.

“We’re so glad to have Hubner choose Tennessee as a place to do business. Tennessee is a great place to live and work, and we’re glad to have them here,” Lee said.

“We appreciate Hubner’s commitment to invest in Sequatchie County and bring stable, family-wage jobs to Dunlap,” Rolfe said.

“Hubner has a strong track record in the communities where it operates, and we look forward to the ways it will support and grow the local economy in Dunlap.”

The plant will go into the Dunlap Industrial Park.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of this year.

The plant will make extruded and molded rubber parts, gaskets, and seals for the transportation, oil and gas, and aerospace industries.

A later phase will add Window systems, handicap lifts & ramps, and possibly gangways systems are under consideration for a later phase.

“Dunlap was selected over 11 other sites across six different states,” Ron Paquette, CEO of Hubner North America, said.

“The cooperation and support provided by the local, county, and state officials surpassed competing locations and the local workforce demonstrated a strong work ethic and sense of pride in quality that best fit our family-owned company.“
