Hutcheson Medical Center Welcome Stay of Foreclosure
"We were thrilled with that ruling that was a great Christmas present for the hospital and the whole Hutcheson family."
Hayes believes Judge Murphy of Rome Georgia has thrown the hospital a lifeline as they try to deal with creditors and get back on their feet.
"We filed Chapter 11, that’s moving along nicely, lot of hearings with that, the hospital is now stabilized more stable than it has been for years lot of good things going on, our volumes are up."
The news of the "stay of foreclosure" was greeted by Fort Oglethorpe’s city manager Ron Goulart.
Ron Goulart, City Manager Fort Oglethorpe,"They are our largest water and sewer consumer so, obviously it has an impact on us, if they are not in business, more importantly there are a number of people who are employed there from our area."
CEO Farrell Hayes believes Hutcheson will get back on it’s feet in 2015 and says the reopening of the women’s center will play a major role.
"Right above us we will be delivering babies in the women’s center and also our paediatric unit will be open at 7am on December 15th we have already several deliveries scheduled for that week so that’s a big deal for us moving forward"
Erlanger officials issued the following statement to news 12 Friday morning.
"This latest order comes as no surprise. We fully expected the court to stay the proceedings. Hutcheson’s request for the stay is within their rights, and we are respectful of the court’s ruling".
No further decision will be made on the foreclosure until at least January 6th 2015.
