Activists Steal Groceries In Santa Costumes, Claim Robin Hood Inspiration

Activists dressed as Santa Claus and elves stole groceries from a Montreal Metro store, later claiming the heist was inspired by Robin Hood. The group posted video of the theft and said they “redistributed” the food to those in need through their “Robins of the Alleys” initiative. Montreal Police Spokesperson Johany Charland confirmed officers are investigating the theft of “what we assume is food” and reviewing camera footage. The activist group stated “A handful of businesses are holding our vital needs hostage” and called grocery chains the real thieves. Metro spokesperson Geneviève Grégoire called retail crime “unacceptable” regardless of motives, noting the chain contributed $1.15 million to food banks and provided $81.6 million worth of food products to charity.
