Character Actor Peter Greene, Best Known For ‘Pulp Fiction’ And ‘The Mask’ Roles, Dies At 60

Peter Greene, the New York character actor famous for playing villains in Pulp Fiction and The Mask, was found dead Friday in his Lower East Side apartment at age 60. His manager Gregg Edwards confirmed the death to NBC News. Greene portrayed the sadistic security guard Zed in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and villain Dorian Tyrell in Jim Carrey’s The Mask, both in 1994. “Nobody played a bad guy better than Peter,” Edwards told NBC. “But he also had, you know, a gentle side that most people never saw, and a heart as big as gold.” Born in Montclair, New Jersey, Greene trained at Lee Strasberg’s studio and appeared in nearly 100 films and television shows throughout his career, including recurring roles on For Life and The Black Donnellys. His other film roles included parts in Tesla, City of Lies, Once Fallen and Permanent Midnight. (Story URL)
