City Sues Business Owner Over Taxes, Finds They Owe Him Money

The City of Richmond, Virginia sued a business owner over late taxes…only to find that they actually owed him a refund. Jeffrey Marks was served a warrant in December saying he was being taken to court over $658. Apparently, he had paid his business taxes late by one day in 2018. However, Marks overpaid in 2020, and actually had a credit when that was taken into account. Finally, Marks received confirmation that the city would dismiss the lawsuit. His refund total is still being calculated. (WTVR)
