Controversial Sensual, Gory Opera Coming To The United States

A radical feminist opera called “Sancta Susanna” is creating controversy for its depiction of a nun’s journey of self-discovery. The show involves gore, nudity, and overtly sexual scenes. The original 1921 premiere was canceled due to its content, and over 100 years later, “Sancta Susanna” is still shocking audiences. During its initial performances in Germany, three viewers had to be treated for excessive nausea. “We recommend that all audience members once again very carefully read the warnings so they know what to expect,” a representative from the opera said. The performance is coming to Los Angeles later this month. Audience members must be 18 or over. (NY Post)
