Giant Windmill Blade Causes Traffic Chaos in Maryland

Maryland drivers faced unexpected delays during their Monday morning commute when a massive windmill blade blocked a local highway. The incident occurred on Interstate 70 near Hagerstown in Washington County, after a tractor-trailer carrying the wind turbine piece overturned and hit a guardrail around 5 am. State Department of Transportation officials shared video footage showing the blade extending across lanes, through the median, and into oncoming traffic. Despite initial reports of no injuries, one person was later hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Both sides of the interstate were temporarily shut down, with westbound lanes closed for nearly three hours as crews worked to clear the obstruction. Traffic resumed normal flow by 8 am after the blade was successfully removed. (Newser)
