Mexican Man Paid $14 For Real $14,000-dollar Earrings
Mexican man Rogelio Villarreal snagged two pairs of $14,000 gold-diamond Cartier earrings for just $14 per pair, thanks to a conversion error on their website. The brand had the earrings listed for 237 pesos instead of 237,000. Once he spotted the error, Villareal quickly added them to his cart. He posted his deal to X, but not everyone was happy for him. Some thought Cartier would “come after” him. “It is easy for the brand’s lawyers to demonstrate that you acted in bad faith and with treachery — add to that everything you are [tweeting], it reinforces the bad faith,” one user posted. However, it seems like Cartier is owning up to the error. A recent photo shows Villareal showing off his new jewels. (NY Post)
