Polish CEO Peter Szczerk Apologizes For Stealing Hat From Child At US Open
A Polish CEO apologized for snatching a hat from a child at the 2025 US Open tennis tournament. Peter Szczerk, the CEO of Drogbruk, claimed he mistakenly thought the hat was meant for his sons, who had asked the Polish player Kamil Majchrzak for autographs. Szczerk said he realized his “grave mistake” and acknowledged he “hurt the boy and disappointed the fans.” He denied making any prior online statements about the incident. Szczerk stated he would increase his support for youth initiatives to rebuild trust, after the viral video erased years of his family’s charity work. The player at the center of the incident later connected with the young fan, giving him a replacement hat. (Us Weekly)
