South Carolina Inmate Gets 15 Additional Years For Diarrhea Attack On Guard

Donald Harper Jr., 35, of South Carolina received 15 additional years in prison after pleading guilty to throwing bodily fluids at a correctional officer at McCormick Correctional Institution. The attack occurred January 11th while the officer delivered meals to Harper’s dormitory. Court records show Harper threw a cup of diarrhea directly into the officer’s face, striking his mouth and eyes. The officer required immediate medical treatment and ongoing monitoring for potential infectious disease exposure. Harper’s projected release date changed from 2036 to 2051. He was previously convicted of voluntary manslaughter in 2015 for killing a professor, receiving 24 years. (Story URL)
