Suzanne Somers’ Widower Trying To Recreate Her With AI, Says You ‘Can’t Tell The Difference’
Alan Hamel is developing an artificial intelligence replica of his late wife, actress Suzanne Somers, who died October 15, 2023, one day before her 77th birthday. The widower, married to the Three’s Company star for 46 years, presented the AI project at a recent conference. “It was Suzanne. I asked her a few questions, and she answered them, and it blew me and everybody else away,” Hamel told PEOPLE. “When you look at the finished one next to the real Suzanne, you can’t tell the difference.” The AI was trained using all 27 of Somers’ books and hundreds of her interviews. Hamel says the idea originated in the 1980s when they met AI scientist Ray Kurzweil. “It was Suzanne’s idea,” Hamel claimed, noting she wanted to help fans with health information through the technology.
