Teen Survives 400-Foot Fall With Scrapes

A teenager fell 400 feet in a Washington state canyon…and survived with just a few scrapes. The young man fell while walking alone on a trail underneath the High Steel Bridge. Firefighters and deputies spent two hours hooking him up to a harness and pulling the teen up. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation, where he was found to have just a few scratches on his arms. Unfortunately, in the past, other hikers have not been so lucky. “We’ve told people to stay off these trails because they’re dangerous, but people either haven’t seen the warning signs or are disregarding it,” Tim Ripp of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office said.
