Wales Releases Most Inappropriate Emergency Calls

The Welsh Ambulance Service has released its data for 2024 and found that 15% of calls were for non-emergencies. “I got my finger stuck in a beer bottle and it will not come out,” one caller told dispatchers. Another was unable to take off their own bracelet, and one stressed pet owner wanted help finding her alligator. Some callers were cautious, like one who was unsure if they were injured. “I stuck my finger in a plug socket, and I felt no effect but I’m ruling out if I electrocuted myself,” they said. The service reminded local callers to apply common sense before calling for help. (UPI)
