Woman Receives $3 Million For Hot Sauce Scald

Texas woman Genesis Monita was awarded $3 million dollars from a barbecue restaurant chain after allegedly being scalded by barbecue sauce. Monita filed a negligence suit claiming the sauce in her takeout order was so hot that it caused a second-degree burn on her leg when she dropped it. The incident reportedly happened at Bill Miller Bar-B-Q in San Antonio in May of 2023. The suit claims that the sauce was served at nearly 190 degrees. It’s unclear if the barbecue joint will appeal this decision. (newser)
