ICE: TDA gang member arrested in Chattanooga had extensive criminal history

Rodriguez Carmona Adelvis Jose

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- We are learning more about the criminal history of the man arrested last week in Chattanooga who authorities say is in a Venezuelan gang.

Adelvis Rodriguez-Carmona was arrested on multiple charges including patronizing prostitution according to the TBI.

We are learning from ICE that he has had a series of arrests in the United States since 2022.

U-S Border Patrol says he illegally entered the country from Venezuela in Texas, and his removal had been ordered by a judge in 2023.

However, he somehow remained in the country, and ICE says he was arrested again in February of this year in a Chicago suburb on multiple charges, but had been released.

A few weeks afterwards, ICE agents arrested him again in Wisconsin as he was facing immigration removal proceedings.

It is unclear why Carmona was not deported, and why he was once again released.

We have asked ICE about this, but have not yet heard back.
