Improvised bomb disposed of outside Tennessee nursing home
FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) – Police say a suspicious object that was found outside a suburban Nashville nursing home was an improvised explosive device.
It was spotted inside an employee’s car Saturday morning by a worker who was ending her shift at the NHC Cool Springs facility.
About 60 patients were moved to other parts of the facility while local and federal bomb specialists used a robot to secure the device on Saturday afternoon.
Franklin Police have identified a man as a person of interest in this case. They say the person in whose vehicle the device was found has a connection to the man, who is a convicted felon with an extensive knowledge of bomb making and weapons. He is currently wanted on a felony warrant out of Virginia.
