Inaugural Frazier Festival celebrates the completion of Frazier Avenue
Geno Wallace with the Northshore Merchants Collective joins News 12’s Amelia Greer to talk about the first ever Frazier Festival.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Lots of changes are happening in Chattanooga’s Northshore which gives the community a reason to celebrate!
With the Walnut Street Bridge being closed for renovations but Frazier Avenue being updated to accommodate pedestrians better, the Northshore Merchants Collective is inviting everyone to celebrate the Northshore area and to introduce new neighbors.
The event is bringing merchants and businesses of Northshore all in one spot for the community to enjoy. There will be a play zone that will feature local artists doing demos from blowing glass to making pottery. There will be storytellers for the kids. Various outdoor games like pickleball and cornhole will be open to the public to enjoy.
The event will be happening on Frazier Avenue from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. Saturday, May 3. The festival is blocking out traffic from North Market Street to Forest Avenue so festival goers can walk freely around Frazier Avenue. There are some parking around the blocked off area, or take advantage of all the parking downtown and get a ride to the event with the CARTA shuttle doing drop offs to the North Market – Frazier Avenue intersection.
