Incline Railway to temporarily close for maintenance
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Incline Railway is closing for a few weeks in April to replace cables.
CARTA officials said they will replace more than 5,000 feet of the cables that pull the cars up and down Lookout Mountain.
They try to replace them every three years.
The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 8.
Officials say the Incline is slated to reopen on April 25 for the summer tourist season.
