Injured hiker rescued on Dayton Mountain

DUNLAP, Tenn. (WDEF) — A female hiker got lost in the “Pocket” state park area of Dayton Mountain and was rescued, according to the Dunlap Fire Department.

She called for help Sunday night around 9 p.m. (8 p.m. Central Time).

The fire department said she was lost and injured in the park while hiking.

Multiple agencies responded to assist via the Tri-State Mutual Aid Assocation.

Rescuers who made contact with the woman said she did not appear to be badly injured.

Dunlap authorities said they set up haul systems to help the hiker and rescuers get up the rocky terrain of the mountainside.
