Inspector: No operational issues with Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) – Operational issues did not cause a serious accident at Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster on July 3 according to an independent inspector hired by the business.

That report was filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce which shared it with Knoxville affiliate Local 8 News.

Formstack, the independent inspector, sent findings to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce outlining what may have caused the accident that hurt a woman.

According to a spokesperson for the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce, the woman suffered fractures to both wrists, a knee cap injury, head trauma and possible broken ribs.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
