Investigators blame 2 fire bomb incidents Wednesday night on gang activity

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga fire investigators worked two separate incidents overnight of fire bombing.

The first happened at a home on Talladega Avenue before midnight.

Victims say someone threw an incendiary device at a window of the house, but it bounced off and fell in the yard.

They quickly put it out with a minimum of damage.

The second device was thrown at another home on Curtis Street after midnight.

That one shattered a window and landed in the kitchen.

Firefighters put out the blaze with a portable fire extinguisher.

No one was hurt in either case.

Investigators do not believe the homes were randomly picked.

Captain Henry McElvain says both incidents appear to be gang-related.
