Investigators make arrest in 24 year old cold case murder
Pharmacist was stabbed to death in her own home in LaFayette
LAFAYETTE, Georgia (WDEF) – The Sheriff in Walker County says his office has made an arrest in a 24 year old cold case.
He will hold a press conference tomorrow to discuss the arrest in the case of Julie Ann McDonald.
Her body was found in her Lafayette home in the summer of 2000.
Investigators say she had been restrained and stabbed numerous times.
A checkbook was stolen from her home and several bogus checks popped up after the murder.
A suspect was picked up for passing the checks, but was not arrested for the murder.
McDonald was a pharmacist in Chattanooga and last seen alive in Fort Oglethorpe.
