Is a quota system behind DUI arrests by Tennessee troopers?
Nashville TV station obtains audio from Chattanooga trooper meetings
NASHVILLE (WDEF) – The Tennessee trooper DUI controversy is now hitting our area.
For weeks now, WSMV TV in Nashville has been reporting on people who have been charged by troopers with DUI who were not drunk.
The suspects were later cleared in court, but that’s too late to save their insurance.
Now some former troopers are telling WSMV that the Department of Safety had a quota system for DUI arrests.
And the TV station obtained recordings from a Trooper meeting in Chattanooga to back it up.
Tennessee allows properly trained troopers to charge you with DUI even if you refuse an alcohol test.
We have attached their reporting.
