IVC US Flooring Brings More Jobs With A Second Facility To Whitfield County
Vice President Andrew Kearton says it was a very easy decision for IVC US.
"A good infrastructure of people, there are a lot of good local suppliers, the community has been very good to us and that is why we have decided to stay in Dalton"
The company provides high end flooring and employs 200 people at this Dalton plant and the new facility will be constructed right behind it.
"But by taking off some of the bigger fish we have been able to take actually grow our business and expand into different markets moving over from purely residential to commercial and RV business as well"
Whitfield County officials say they are proud of IVC US and say the breaking of new ground for the facility is a thumbs up to the North Georgia community.
Mike Babb, Whitfield County Chairman,"I think we showed them that Whitfield can supply manufacturing situation the employees, the location the logistics and all that they needed to be successful, they have been successful and its shown by the expansion"
Andrew Carnes, Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce, "We had a lot of companies actually look at all of us in the fourth quarter of 2013 and the first quarter of 2014 because of all the announcements that Dalton and Whitfield County have and so we do all this is a momentum builder"
Locally employed construction workers have been on the site since Monday morning.
The company also has offices and plants in Russia, Poland and California.
