An event was held Saturday at the Chattanooga Public Library to kickoff Allen’s campaign.

He mentioned he spent most of his career as a banker in rural Tennessee.

“I spent my life in the rural counties and in Chattanooga, working to bring people together. To fix things. To make lives better. One of the things you’re not going to hear in our campaign is, ‘I’ll fight, I’ll fight.’ You know I was riding over here today and I heard someone say, ‘I’ll fight.’ We’re tired of fighting. The fighting should be over. It’s time to circle up, work on problems. Work on opportunities. Make things work. And don’t care who gets the credit. Let’s just do it,” Candidate for District 3, U.S. House of Representatives, Jack Allen said.

He continued by saying, “What if we made a campaign that was positive? That we didn’t point fingers. That we didn’t look back. That we didn’t look for blame. We just looked for solutions. And what if we did a campaign as far as trying to alienate people, we brought them together. You know, most of us agree on the same things. There are fringe things we don’t always agree on, and someday we can talk about those. But right now we need to talk about the $34 trillion dollar deficit, we need to talk about the border, we need to talk about healthcare… And not just talk about them, we need to fix them.”

Allen said he spent most of his life in McMinn County and Monroe County before later moving to Chattanooga.

“The American people, the folks in our district, the rural America, they want solutions. They get up everyday, they go to work. And they fix things,” Allen said.

The candidate will continue to campaign throughout the year until the primary in August.

“It gives us time to talk to a lot of folks. And we’re doing it the hard way. We’re knocking on doors, we’re going to coffee shops, we’re visiting with people. But I say the hard way, it’s the fun way. It’s how it should be done. We need to talk to people. They need to know us and we need to know them,” Allen explained.
