Favors takes plea deal in attack of his girlfriend
DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – A Whitfield County man pleaded guilty for an attack on his live in girlfriend last year.
30 year old Jacob Kyle Favors was originally charged with rape.
But pleaded guilty to a variety of assault charges, including aggravated sexual battery, sodomy and family violence.
He was sentenced to 18 years without parole.
On August 11, 2017, a witness reported seeing Favors beating the victim as they drove towards Chatsworth.
Investigators say earlier in the day, Favors had demanded sex from her and had been assaulting her since.
They say he then dragged her to the vehicle and bit the top of her ear off.
Police pulled him over in Chatsworth.
He has a criminal history of family violence and violating a protection order against another victim.
The Murray County charges were dismissed as a result of pleading guilty to the Whitfield charges.
District Attorney Bert Poston says the victim was agreeable to the plea deal.
