Jenni Berz Officially Wins District 6
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A new chapter is beginning for Chattanooga’s City Council, but it’s one deeply rooted in tradition.
Jenni Berz has officially won the District 6 seat, stepping into a role long held by her late mother, Dr. Carol Berz.
For many voters, it’s a continuation of a legacy that helped shape the heart of the district.
Berz secured the seat during Tuesday’s runoff, earning 727 votes to opponent Christian Siler’s 456.
While turnout remained low, the outcome reflected strong support for Berz’s steady leadership since being appointed earlier this year following her mother’s passing.
Dr. Carol Berz served District 6 for more than a decade and was known for her focus on community well-being, policy experience, and connection to residents.
Now, her daughter Jenni is stepping up to carry that legacy forward, pledging to listen closely, work collaboratively, and build on the foundation her mother laid.
As she prepares to be sworn in on Monday, Jenni Berz says she’s ready to serve, not only by continuing key initiatives in public safety and neighborhood development, but by staying present and accessible to the people of District 6.
She joins a council expected to remain steady through 2029, bringing both familiarity and new perspectives to the seat.
Berz will officially take the oath of office on Monday. She says she’s honored to serve and hopes to lead with the same heart and commitment her mother was known for.
