Jimmy Weekley Back Again as Red Wolves Interim Head Coach

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) It’s deja-vu…all over again for Chattanooga Red Wolves assistant coach Jimmy Weekley.
For the second straight year, he finds himself as the team’s interim head honcho. Weekley was named the interim coach this week after head coach Ziggy Korytoski was fired. Last summer, Weekley stepped in to lead the team on an interim basis when head coach Jimmy Obleda was fired. Weekley didn’t miss a beat last year, as he guided Chattanooga to the league championship game. Might be harder to pull off a championship run this year, since the Red Wolves are at the bottom of the USL League One standings.

Said Weekley:”I can’t make any promises, but we’re going to keep working and grinding away and see what we can accomplish. Obviously a different group and we’re still trying to get used to each other, but just happy to be here still and get an opportunity to try to lead the guys back up the table if we can. ”

Said Ualefi Rodrigues Dos Reis Midfielder:”It’s not easy, this change, but we are excited to have Jim back.”

Chattanooga hosts Charlotte Independence on Saturday at 7:30 at CHI Memorial Stadium.
