2-hundred new jobs are coming to Chattanooga. The immediate openings are for the Volkswagen Manufacturing Plant.

Rob Bradham, Vice President Public Strategies at Chattanooga Area Chamber said, "2-hundred jobs is awesome. And its a smaller piece of Volkswagen’s overall hiring. They expect to be hiring about 2-thousand people over the next couple of years." The company Aerotek will be hiring logistics and conveyance qualified team members with starting pay at 11-dollars and 50-cents an hour. Representatives with the Chattanooga Area Chamber said that it’s a huge priority of theirs to get local residents hired for these types of positions. Bradham said, "We are the economic development entity for the City of Chattanooga and Hamilton county, so we certainly have an interest in making sure that Hamilton county residents have a shot at these jobs first."
    
A line of eager people looking for work filled out their applications at the Eastgate Career Center Thursday morning. Daryll Lawler, Applicant said, "It’s great. I have a hard time trying to find a job online and waiting for a call back, so having a Career Center to go too and job fair and for the opportunity to meet the staff." Lawler from Chattanooga has been searching for work and says his work experience would meet their requests. Lawler said, "I was just looking for a great opportunity at Volkswagen. I have experience in inspection and production. So I’m hoping I can get a job at Volkswagen for a career."
