Judge rejects Colton Moore’s bid for damages over capitol arrest
ATLANTA, Ga. (WDEF) — An Atlanta judge denied Colton Moore’s attempt to collect damages for his arrest at the state capitol.
The state Senator from Trenton was trying to enter the Georgia House for a joint session address by the Governor.
However, the House Speaker had banned Moore the previous year.
Moore denounced the former House Speaker David Ralston as a corrupt leader during a memorial service for him.
Senator Moore was wrestled to the ground and arrested before he could enter the room.
He had gone to court asking for warrants from the state official who he says pushed him to the ground.
However, the judge said Friday the charges aren’t serious enough for a warrant.
The speaker has since lifted the ban on Senator Moore.
