July hit and run suspect summoned to court

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police have identified the people involved in a hit and run that occurred on July 8.

The Traffic Division said the hit and run happened at 727 East 11th Street and caused the death of 60-year-old Lisa Hill.

Authorities have now summoned 21-year-old Angel Waugh to appear in a General Sessions Court on August 23. Waugh may face charges of failing to exercise due care and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police said Hill was crossing East 11th Street at 11 a.m. on July 8 when a Nissan Altima hit her. The police department said the driver of the Nissan fled the scene.

First responders gave Hill CPR and took her to the hospital, but she died from her injuries.
