Junior Achievement Spirit of Achievement Awards Honor Several Chattanooga area Businesses

(WDEF) Chattanooga’s true Spirit of Achievement was on display Wednesday afternoon at the Junior Achievement Spirit of Achievement awards luncheon.
     Chattanooga area companies and employees took home honors for committing themselves to the students of Chattanooga and North Georgia by advancing Junior Achievement’s effort to inspire and prepare them to succeed in the global economy.
     Junior Achievement of Chattanooga focuses on teaching financial literacy to area students.
     Wednesday’s keynote speaker was Jennie Finch.
     She was part of the Olympic gold medal winning U-S softball team in 2004.
     Junior Achievement Board Member Charles Millirons said, "She did a fantastic job in talking about her history and her values and what things that she celebrates, in terms of building character and such things that Junior Achievement promotes as well."
     Elder’s Ace Hardware and Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union were this year’s honorees.
