Jury awards Chattanooga Police officers back pay
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – 25 Chattanooga police officers will get $562,000 in back pay.
A Hamilton County Chancery Court jury sided with police in a pay dispute with the city.
Officers say pay for certain ranks has never been equalized.
For instance, some sergeants make $30,000 a year while others make $60,000.
The jury found Chattanooga violated city code dealing with fair treatment of employees — and breached a contract relating to a pay plan enacted in 2010
