CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – C. Mark Warren with Warren & Griffin stresses the importance of driving safety with “The 100 Deadliest Days of Summer.”
Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, it’s the most dangerous time of year for teen drivers. There’s 20-26% uptick in car crashing involving teenagers around this time of year, with 19 deaths across Tenn. last year. Teenagers are three times as likely to be involved in a fatal accident during this time due to distracted driving.
Prevention is key to avoid these car accidents. Parents are encouraged to talk with their child about safety and ways to avoid distraction. Distractions include looking at a cellphone and having multiple people in a car. And always wear a seatbelt.
