Kitchen Incubator celebrates 2 years with wing cookoff

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Kitchen Incubator of Chattanooga is celebrating two years of Food Truck Fridays with a heated competition.

The owners of seven food trucks participated in a wing off competition.

Chef Chasty with Seafood and More took home the wing off trophy.

Organizers of the event say they are also excited about introducing an evening Food Truck Friday this year.

“Right now, on the first Friday of each month, we are having food truck Fridays during the day from 11 to 3,” said Dejuan Jordan, co-CEO of Launch. “But starting the third Friday in March, we will have peak nights. It would be a similar event, but we will have food trucks and we will have entertainment. It will be at night from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.”

The Kitchen Incubator provides entrepreneurial opportunities for small businesses.

“When we open space in 2020, we had a steady stream of food businesses that are using our space. The Kitchen Incubator is a place where food businesses can share a kitchen space and become a member,” said Hal Bowling, Co-CEO of Launch. “It is not only all inclusive, but it lets folks do what they can and do legally by health department standards.”

Food truck Friday events will still be the first and third Fridays starting in March.

They also will host a KIC Catalyst Entrepreneurship Program for Food and Beverage Businesses starting March 4.

KIC will also begin a “Start Up Matrix Entrepreneurship” for all businesses.
