Lady Vols Snap Five Game Road Losing Streak With Victory Over Vandy

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Jaime Nared scored a season-high 18 points to lead five Tennessee players in double figures and No. 25 Tennessee ended a five-game road losing streak with a 69-51 win over Vanderbilt on Thursday night.

Diamond DeShields scored 12. Te’a Cooper and 6-foot-6 center Mercedes Russell both scored 11 points.

Tennessee’s Bashaara Graves, who played sparingly in Sunday’s overtime loss at Texas A&M due to a sprained ankle, scored 10 points.

Tennessee protected its fourth-quarter lead this time after blowing double-digit advantages in overtime road losses to Texas A&M and Mississippi in its previous two road defeats.

Vanderbilt (15-9, 4-7) suffered it fourth straight loss and shot only 38 percent from the floor.

Tennessee outscored Vanderbilt 42-20 in the paint and 22-16 in bench points.

Rebekah Dahlman scored 13 points to lead Vanderbilt. Minta Spears added 11. Jasmine Jenkins scored 10.
