STEM Labs are Available for Students at Lakeside Academy

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- One local elementary school has something to celebrate today.

Students at Lakeside Academy will now be spending some of their time learning in STEM Labs.

The academy is the recipient of a grant from The Leonore Annenberg School Fund.

Because of that grant, two of the school’s science labs were turned into STEM labs.

That will help students have a more hands-on experience.

“The students get an opportunity to work with their hands. So it’s not a sit and get type of thing. So they get to go into the STEM Lab and create something,” said Andrea Johnson who is the principal of Lakeside Academy.

Lakeside Academy received this grant with help from the Public Education Foundation.
