Large fire at Lumberjacks Hardwood Center

Chattanooga Fire Department says the fire was put out by 3 AM. CFD continues to monitor the scene.
The fire was marked out at 3:09 AM.
There are still areas smoldering and the CFD will continuing to monitor the scene.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Lumberjacks Hardwood Center catches on fire resulting in several buildings being a total loss.
On Tuesday before 11 PM, the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a commercial fire at Lumberjacks Hardwood Center located on 2420 E Main Street.
Due to the size of the fire and the dangerous conditions, defensive operations were initiated, mainly to prevent the fire from spreading into the lumberyard.
A water supply with boosted water pressure was established, power cut off around the business, and a large collapse zone was set up. Traffic was shut down around the area.
By 2:30 AM on Wednesday, CFD had the fire under control. Heavy machinery was brought to knock down parts of the building for additional access to hot spots.
There is still a collapse hazard due to the damage to the structure of the building.
Buildings along East Main are a total loss.
As of now, there are no injuries and the fire is under investigation.
