Large marijuana bust in Dalton

Dalton, GA (WDEF) – Dalton Police say thanks to a tip they were able to arrest 27-year-old Rodney Christopher Swank in a large marijuana bust on Headrick Circle.

They went to the home Monday night and immediately smelled the overwhelming odor of marijuana plants when they got out of the car.

Swank was outside the home with the door open, but he shut it when officials identified themselves.

Officers were able to get a search warrant based on the smell and what Swank said.

They found 4 pounds of packed marijuana and several large plants which were being grown inside the house.

Swank faces charges of manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm while commissioning a crime.

Officials say more charges are possible.
