Larry Black sworn in as Catoosa County Commission Chairman

Black received over 5,000 votes at the polls for the position

RINGGOLD, Georgia (WDEF) — Last week, Larry Black won the election for Catoosa County Commission Chairman.

He was sworn into the position today.

He received 5,574 total votes at the polls.

That’s more than what his two opponents, Ernie Pursley and Nick Ware, received combined.

“This is a challenge being the chairman over the five-men board,” Black said. “I think we have some excellent commissioners. I think we do things right in Catoosa County as far as the way we run our government, so I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Black is replacing former chairman Steven Henry, who lost in last week’s state Senate race versus Colton Moore.

His resume includes numerous roles in local government, including four years as a Ringgold city councilman.
