Larry Crim announces plans to run for Sen. Bob Corker’s seat
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) Larry Crim will run for the Republican nomination to replace Bob Corker in the U.S. Senate.
The Nashville businessman is CEO of Christian Counseling Centers of America.
He has not held any other elective office, but has experience lobbying for veterans bills.
That’s why he chose veterans week to make the announcement.
“As we’ve elected our President and celebrate veteran’s day it is more important than ever to join as one nation to honor our country’s veterans and protect the security of Americans. That is what Tennesseans said they wanted in a President. That is what Tennesseans are telling me they want in a U.S. Senator. That is the job I’m seeking – to be the voice for Tennesseans in the United States Senate.”
Crim has proposed a federal Veterans Benefit Assurance Act and supports Tennessee legislation to coordinate resources for veterans.
Bob Corker has filed paperwork to run for re-election in 2018.
But Crim points out that he has been suggested for appointment in a Trump administration.
