Laser Technology Helps Estheticians Rejuvenate Skin

September is National Skin Care Month so we visited a local Med Spa to see what tech they use to care for your skin

CHATTANOOGA, TN – September is widely known as National Skin Care Awareness Month. The use over laser technology in skin car has gone well beyond the operating room into almost every day use.  Today we took a trip over to Alchemy Med Spa to see what high tech devices they’re using and how it benefits us.

Moxi lasers are some of the latest in skin care tech used to brighten the skin and help produce collagen to make the skin feel and appear younger.

According to Esthetician Cora Lesar “Moxi uses a 1927 nanometer wavelength to target pigmentation, overall skin rejuvenation. It helps with tone and texture and stimulates collagen and elastin production. All of which help with the aging process. So Moxi is actually indicated to treat melasma, which a lot of people can develop through, like hormonal changes. Like during pregnancy or, you know, just normal hormonal fluctuations. It’s great for sun damage. It can help with precancerous lesions. It also is really amazing for just, like, brightening the skin. So it’s what they call a pre-generative treatment. So the benefit of the laser is for the skin rather than waiting 70 years to have a treatment done and coming in and wanting one treatment to fix everything, that and all the damage that has occurred over 70 years. When you’re doing preventative treatments, you’re helping keep your skin stay healthier longer so that you need less. You know, maintenance down the road.”

Essentially it’s like diet and exercise except you can use it on your skin.

“ Esthetic treatments are kind of like a workout for your skin. That’s the best way to think about it. Moxi is really great for all skin types and all skin tones,” says Cora.  “So it’s safe for everything from like a very pale redhead to very dark African American skin, which for a long time the laser was not safe for African-American and darker skin types because of the hyperpigmentation risk.”

Medical Esthetics are always on the cutting edge and helping us fight the aging process.  You can learn more about Moxi lasers and how they work by visiting our friends at Alchemy Med Spa.
