LATEST: Suck Creek Road crash victim identified
LATEST: Hamilton County Sheriff’s officials release the name of the crash victim.
The driver was 75-year-old James H. Johnston.
According to the preliminary investigation, Johnston crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a power pole.
He was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
Deputies continue to look into the cause of the crash.

UPDATE: Suck Creek Road is back open now.
EPB plans to replace the power pole Tuesday night.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane then.

Hamilton County, TN (WDEF) – Hamilton County Sheriff’s officials expect parts of Suck Creek Road to be closed for several hours after a single car crash Tuesday afternoon.
Officials say it happened near the 2200 block.
The crash involved a power pole; causing wires to be down on the road.
EPB has been called in to look at the damage.
The driver was taken to a local hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
