LAUNCH, Kitchen Incubator of Chattanooga host ‘Farmers Market 101’

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Selling food has many regulations, rules and responsibilities that can make or break a business idea.
Unfortunately, many aspiring food entrepreneurs are tripped up by the complex requirements unique to selling a food product.
Fortunately, LAUNCH and the Kitchen Incubator of Chattanooga are hosting Farmers Market 101 to help.
The event will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Business Development Center at 100 Cherokee Blvd.
“Every year, there are new regulations that come out, and we are an educational facility here at the Kitchen Incubator of Chattanooga powered by Launch. And our whole objective here is education and we want to be the facilitators that bring the info to the general public. The markets start this year, and we want everyone to come out today. As we are learning what is going on with the new farmers market, we want to make sure the public is there as well,” said Mark Holland, spokesperson for Farmers Market 101.
The Hamilton County Health Department and the Department of Agriculture for the State of Tennessee will be there to help navigate the many requirements and regulations in the food industry, which are some of the biggest challenges to success.
