Lauren Alaina Finally Has a New Single Coming Out This Week
She spent it recovering from throat surgery, recording a new album, and then sitting on it for months waiting for her record label to release it.
Now the first official single is coming out.
“Next Boyfriend” will be release digitally on Friday.
She already has spent the last couple of months touring the song to radio stations across the country.
They signed her after the American Idol fanfare hoping Lauren could grab a piece of the young, female fanbase that Taylor Swift built.
Then Nashville took a Bro-country detour, making it much harder for female artists to get played on radio.
Right now, only 3 of the top 20 songs on the Billboard country charts are by women (Cam, Maddie & Tae, Carrie Underwood).
And that is actually an improvement from earlier this year.
The good news for Lauren is that two of those artists are new.
Lauren isn’t a teenager anymore.
This fall, we’ll see if Nashville warms up for the 20-year old emerging artist.

Just follow Lauren Alaina to "puzzle" out her new look.
