LFO, Chattooga girls only North Georgia winners Saturday
FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. (WDEF) — With tickets to the Elite Eight on the line, seven North Georgia teams battled out-of-region foes Saturday. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and Chattooga girls were the only survivors.
Lady Warriors hosted Thomson in a dominating show. LFO puts the winless 2021 season behind them even more with a 61-47 win.
LFO boys didn’t have the same luck on the road against unbeaten Sumter County. Warriors never came back from a nine-point halftime deficit, losing 52-41.
LaFayette stayed home to host Cross Creek, the dark shadow of the last two seasons. Razorbacks had bested the Ramblers the last two playoff matchups. Saturday was no different. Despite LaFayette’s untarnished record and Aiden Hadaway’s 23-point, 12-rebound effort, Ramblers’ season ends with a 50-47 loss.
Other Georgia scores:
Ringgold girls 28 – Macon Central 44
Chattooga girls 54 – Lamar County 48
Chattooga boys 68 – Early County 70
Trion girls 36 – Montgomery County 52
