LFO Searching For Success After Two Win Season
Fort Oglethorpe, GA-(WDEF-TV) Our nightly 30-in-30 high school football preview series features LFO.
The Warriors won only two games last season, but they believe more wins could be in their grasp this fall.
As Mac Bryan enters his third season at LFO, he believes the Warriors have the potential for a winning record. Said Bryan:”We think we were a much better team a year ago than we were the first year. Now the won-loss record wasn’t that much different, but the games were different. And what we’ve got to do is we’ve got to break through and win enough of those close games, and I think we’ll be in pretty good shape.”
The line of scrimmage must shape up for LFO to make some noise.
Said Bryan:”We’re trying to build whatever depth we can, especially the line. We’re not very deep there.”
Said Jared Mitchell:”Our line is one of the smallest in the league, but I think we can work with it. They’re willing to compete.”
To really compete..never hurts to have a good quarterback.
Said Bryan:”Darian Keefe is a first team all region sophomore. He’s a player. He’s a good player. He does a lot of good things.”
Keefe has a weapon at receiver in Jared Mitchell.
Said Keefe:”I think he has some of the best route running in Northwest Georgia. He gets open. He always finds a way open. If everybody is covered, hey, look at Jared. He’s always open.”
And the Warriors have a running back who can get out in the open in 5’7 Tray Lewis.
Said Bryan:”He looks small in height, but he’s really powerful. Got really quick feet and real good quickness. We’re probably going to be a junior and sophomore dominated team. Hopefully we continue to improve.”
