Living Well With Troy – A Slimmer Waist

Fitness trainer DeEric Williams on three easy steps to how to create a slimmer waist.

Troy, “I want everyone to know at home, how to create a slimmer waist.”

Williams, “okay slimmer waist. When you look at the waist, everyone looks at the obliques. The sides. We’re trying to bring that in. The best thing to do is to get yourself into a low plank.”

Troy, “How long should we be holding the plank?”

Williams, “At least a minute in a low plank to go ahead and make sure that the core is engaged and that you get a nice challenge.”

Troy, “How long is the next one?”

Williams, “The next one, I would say you progress into a hip tap. So you’re still in that low plank position. What you’re going to do is you’re going to tap your hips from left to right making sure they hit the ground. Do that about 10 to 15 reps each side.”

Troy, “All right so we’ve got our third and final step.”

Williams, “The best thing for a slimmer race is to make sure you burn calories. So mountain climbers do both; they work your core and they make sure you burn calories at the same time.”

Troy, “How often should we be doing this triage of exercises?”

Williams, “I would say at least three times a week. Do about three to four sets. Make sure that you’re high repetition.”

Troy, “That’s how our exercise is done. Now what do we need to do on the food side?”

Williams, “I would say caloric deficit. Make sure that you eat less calories than you burn so make sure that the calories that you do eat are quality calories.”

Troy, “What do you mean by quality?”

Williams, “Make sure it’s good, healthy foods. High fiber foods, nice lean protein, make sure you stay away from a lot of starchy carbs. Keep it nice and tight .”
